We require all organisations featured on
Breeze Culture Network to demonstrate they have safeguarding and equality policies in place to ensure acceptable minimum standards for the quality and safety of the information that is shared on the website, much of which could be disseminated to children, young people and families.
All independent practitioners show us they have a recent CRB/DBS registration, insurance and references - this means if you are approaching an independent practitioner via the Directory you can be assured they have worked with children and young people before, though we do recommend you always carry out your own checks. See below.
Delivering arts or cultural activity?
Arts/Cultural/Voluntary Organisations are required to complete a form and submit their safeguarding and equality policies via email to Alice Boulton-Breeze before they are activated on the site. Where these policies are not of an acceptable standard we will request that they are revised before we grant membership.

Disclaimer
Organisations working with independent practitioners should be aware that a CRB/DBS check provided to Breeze Culture Network to activate their account, is not a substitute for your organisation’s own checks, safeguards or responsible practice.
Apart from spot checks, Breeze Culture Network does not follow-up previous CRB/DBS information provided at registration by independent practitioners. It is therefore the responsibility of the organisation employing an artist/partner organisation to ensure that the relevant CRB/DBS/safeguarding/equality/reference documentation is satisfactory and in place at the time the work is delivered.
Anyone working with an independent practitioner or organisation listed on Breeze Culture Network must be satisfied through their own checks that the independent practitioner or organisation is appropriate for working with children or young people.
