Are you ready for the Sheffield stampede

Are you ready for the stampede? Make sure your school doesn’t miss out!

Next summer a herd of elephant sculptures will descend on Sheffield for the biggest public art event the city has ever seen!
It will celebrate our heritage, create civic pride and showcase Sheffield’s status as a vibrant and culturally exciting city.
Integral to the Herd of Sheffield will be an education programme which is open to all education establishments in the region – together we will create the Little Herd of Sheffield with over 40 elephant sculptures.
The Little Herd aims to encourage the engagement of all schools in Sheffield and beyond with a subsidised education package. Each participating school will have the opportunity to design their very own elephant sculpture while using its accompanying cross-curricular education pack to infuse their learning with creativity. The elephant will then be exhibited in a summer long little herd trail across the city. At the end of the project, each elephant sculpture will be returned to their schools as a permanent memento of their involvement in the event.

The cost of the elephant sculpture is free. Although, we kindly ask that each participating school raises a minimum of £500 to help support our costs.
With this, each school will receive:
• A 73cm tall elephant sculpture that is yours to decorate and keep at the end of the trail
• An elephant themed cross curricular education pack which compliments key stage learning in numerous subjects
• Support from the Little Herd schools coordinators
• A high profile location to exhibit your finished artwork on a summer long sculpture trail
• Advertisement of you schools involvement via The Herd website and inclusion in an official trail map
There are a limited amount of elephants, which will be given to schools on a first come first served basis so don’t miss out!
